For The Big Band of Rossmoor, the goal wasn’t just to build a community website — it was to capture a legacy.
This WordPress + DIVI5 + Gravity Forms based platform was designed to reflect the energy, history, and unique intergenerational spirit of a 35+ piece jazz orchestra where musicians aged 13 to 86 share the same stage. Rather than a standard organizational directory, the design focuses on the “living tradition” of swing: blending archival history with vibrant, modern performance media to tell a story that spans decades.
The site balances nostalgia with utility. By integrating a comprehensive media catalog, dynamic event calendars, and dedicated musician profiles, the platform serves as both a historical archive and a functional hub for the community. Streamlined pathways for donations and event ticketing make it easy for supporters to engage, while immersive galleries of the “Generations in Jazz” reinforce the band’s mission of mentorship and musical joy before a single note is played.
Built on a flexible, modular framework, the website allows for seamless updates as the band’s 140-page repertoire grows and new seasons are announced. The result is a polished, community-centric online presence that feels as classic and synchronized as the big band charts it celebrates.
